I thought I’d gotten in line soon enough to attend Amy Webb’s keynote this morning. In the event, I got close but not close enough. The Austin Convention Center’s Ballroom D holds 1,800 people. The line must have started forming two hours before the start time of 11 am. Ah well.
Now I’m at the JW Marriott, waiting for Salon 5 to open. Mark Leibovich will be interviewed there at 11:30 by former US Attorney Preet Bhavara. Leibo, as his friends call him, is one of my favorite writers and interviewers.
I’m typing on my Apple Magic Keyboard and can see a very big screen in front of me as I sit on a leather-like love seat next to a guy who is typing on his laptop. Old school, man! I haven’t seen any other VPs in action so far. One volunteer stopped me as I approached an escalator and asked if I like it. Yes!
Just now, the guy typing on his laptop had the same question, and I gave the same answer. He has a company in Finland developing an AI user experience for musicians that sounds phenomenal. Here is a clip I recorded of him with my headset:
