Old Friends
I recorded today’s Morning Journal on the TGV from Aix-en-Provence to Nice.
At the Nice train station, we picked up our Hertz rental and drove to La Colle-sur-Loup. That’s where my high school classmate Flip Morse bought a villa earlier this year, and we are among his first renters.
Compared with the bustle of Cours Mirabeau in Aix, this spot is deeply serene. We look out over rolling hills and trees. I hear absolutely no traffic from any direction. I bet the view of the stars tonight is going to be amazing.
Darlene, Deb, Marie, and Pam are shopping for groceries and supplies. We will be here for nine days before returning home to the States.
Each location in France has had a unique energy.
I can’t wait to see what Flip’s villa has to teach me. I will turn 74 years old in four days. This will be a renewing place to turn the page.
