On my third day here at South By Southwest in Austin, my recording devices and my brain are overloaded with things to share.
To keep things simple in hopes of a good sleep tonight, I am uploading this video I recorded at the Dubai pavilion, titled Museum of the Future.
A mesmerizing 360-degree artwork greets visitors to the space, leading to a presentation room where I heard a panel discussion on the future of food.
An Aussie named Paul Newnham was one of the panelists. Paul is CEO of the SDG2 Advocacy Hub, a spinoff from the second of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. SDG2 aims at ending hunger and assuring safe and nutritious food worldwide.
When I arrived in Austin on Friday, I heard serial entrepreneur and angel investor Jason Calacanis on stage. He explained why he recently moved from California to Austin, which he described as one of four hubs of innovation in the world. The other three are New York City, Dubai, and Singapore.
Dubai? That surprised me, which is why I decided to check out the Dubai pavilion at 214 Congress Street.
Paul Newnham said Dubai is where people come from all over the world to share ideas about a better future. Thus his work on food and his connections there. I included an excerpt from my conversation with Paul on today’s Morning Journal.
Paul is also a podcaster. His show is named Future Fork.
