Travels with Holly
My friend Fitz Sargent the other day at coffee happened to mention a bus ride guys our age can take for a dollar.
“I’m in!” I said.
This was at Elements, Biddeford’s premier books-and-beer-and-coffee shop, at a window looking out on Main Street. Fitz said the bus ride takes an hour to do a loop starting and ending at the Amtrak station.
We met there this morning in time to get good seats in the raised section of the Number 51 bus, departing at 8:30 a.m.
It made stops at the Biddeford Hannaford market, 5 Points Shopping Center, the YMCA, a medical office and Southern Maine Medical Center, the Walmart, Biddeford Industrial Park, Mardens, and the Police Station.
Afterward, we had breakfast at Twin City Diner. Fitz’s dog Holly curled up under the table. It was a good morning.
