Approaching Nice

I recorded a Morning Journal entry as our American Airlines flight approached Nice a few hours ago.
Customs took just a few minutes. The agent politely asked me to remove my cap, the better for him to compare my face with the one on my passport.
I thought we would take a shuttle to the Sheraton Nice Airport, but it turned out we could walk to the hotel in about 10 minutes. While waiting for early check-in we just had a light lunch at the la table des suds, one of two restaurants at the hotel.
It’s hot here! By the time we got to the hotel I was drenched. I’ve cooled off now, and all of our iPhones have found the travel pass plans we signed up for.
