Sometimes a walk on the beach is just a walk on the beach.
That’s what today’s stroll felt like this morning before the sun popped up over Prout’s Neck. I felt the sand on my bare feet, watched seagulls floating overhead and one hanging out at Googins Rocks, a well-loved local landmark.
I took a few photos and headed back to the cottage to begin the day.
Now it’s late afternoon as I prepare this post.
After lunch, I got a haircut from Hayden at Defined Lines Barber Shop in Old Orchard. He’s new at barbering, thinks his rent is too high in Biddeford, and loves to ski in the winter. Good guy, great haircut.
I was on foot, because Darlene drove Pebbles to Portsmouth, NH, with our friend Pam for the day.
After my haircut, I bought swimming ear plugs at Walgreens. As I was leaving, I heard someone say “Len!” from the parking lot. It was my friend Dusty, and he gave me a lift back to to the cottage.
Summer in Maine: You can’t beat it.
